LOLO FIMA is an

electrifying Avant-garde band

blending funk-punk and “gay jazz” into a

bold, genre-bending experience. Formed in 2024

by best friends Blakstar and Noah Sherman after

traveling to West Africa with their djembe teacher,

Weedie Braimah, the group channels spiritual, political, and New-wave energy. Blakstar, a Bronx-raised singer/songwriter with roots in church and theatre, and Noah, a globe-touring Chicago-born jazz drummer and Dununfola, create a powerful, unforgettable sound. LOLO FIMA has lit up stages across New York City—from The Shrine to Nublu 151—and is currently planning a

national tour and EP release later this year. Their

high-energy performances are a surreal

spectacle of dance breaks, costume

changes, and psychedelic

visuals.
